1. What is ORP?
ORP stands for Oxygen Reduction
Potential also known as Redox Potential. ORP is measured
using a voltage meter showing the reading in millivolts
(mV). A neutral reading would be 0mV, an oxidising substance
would show a positive reading for example +300mV, and a
reducing substance would have a negative reading such as
-300mV. In the case of drinking water with a good ORP,
anything with a reading below -200mV is good i.e. a higher
figure as it's negative, as it shows a strong potential to
reduce oxidising substances such as free radicals within the
body (so it does the job of an antioxidant). When water has
a positive reading, it shows it has the potential to
oxidise, which means it will be good for cleaning, as it
will destroy bacteria by stealing electrons making the
bacteria and contaminants harmless.

2. What is the Negative Hydrogen Ion?
The Negative Hydrogen Ion, also known as, H-, OH- and
Hydride Ion amongst others, is integral to life on earth. It
is a powerful antioxidant found in raw food and vegetation,
some ancient springs, glaciers and high altitude waterfalls
along with many other places. The H- helps to keep wildlife
and humans free from severe free radical damage. Because of
the processing of food and drink and the gradual pollution
of our planet, it is thought that it is difficult to find
the H- naturally now, but it certainly played a significant
role in the beginnings of life on earth.

3. What is ionization?
Ionization simply means to gain or lose an electron.
Electrons are negatively charged. Electrons in motion around
an atom create electrical current. So the more electrons in
the water, the more negative charge there is. An Ion is an
atom or a group of atoms with a positive or negative charge;
if the ions are exposed to a specific current they will
react and ionization will occur. An ionization process
happens in every corner of the world and even in our brains
constantly.

4. What is ionized water?
Alkaline ionized water (AIW) is the product of a
specialised electrolytic reaction, which takes place in a
water ionizer unit. AIW is tap water that has not only been
filtered, but has also been reformed, in that it provides
concentrated clusters of molecules with a large mass of
electrons that can be donated to active oxygen in the body
to block the oxidation of normal cells, commonly expressed
as free radical damage.

5. What is an antioxidant?
An antioxidant is part of the chemical makeup of a
substance that will have abundant negative electrons. An
antioxidant will have a negative ORP (look at question 1)
and once in the body, they will neutralise free radicals
that cause illness, disease and ageing by donating their
extra electrons that the free radicals are taking from the
healthy cells. All raw fruit and vegetables will have
antioxidants, along with the antioxidant water from The

6. What is NMR Spectroscopy?
NMR stands for Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and
spectroscopy means the measuring of wavelengths of visible
and non-visible light through objects of varying absorption.
NMR is based on quantum mechanics and in the case of The
Water Ionizer it is used to measure the atomic size of water
clusters. NMR has proven that water clusters become more
condensed when they are electrolysed.

7. What is the difference between alkaline and acidic
water?
Alkaline water is full of hydroxyl (negatively charged)
ions, which are an integral part of the continual building
of our DNA structure – this water has many health benefits.
Acidic water is full of positively charged ions. This is
water that we apply only to the outside of our body. In
essence, alkaline water is an antioxidant and acidic water
is oxidative (cleansing).

8. What are alkaline and acidic minerals?
Here are some examples of acidic minerals: iodine,
phosphorus, sulphur and chloride. Here are some examples of
alkaline minerals: magnesium, calcium, sodium and potassium.
Alkaline minerals can be absorbed by the body and acidic
minerals cannot.

9. Why is this water better than regular tap water or
bottled water?
Did you know that there can be up to 350 separate
chemicals and adverse substances in UK tap water? By
drinking water straight from the tap, you are exposing
yourself to a number of different agricultural chemicals,
drugs, hormones and substances such as chlorine, arsenic,
fluoride, lead and copper. The same holds true for bottled
water, an industry that is unregulated in the UK. The World
Health Organisation does not support the idea put forward by
bottled water manufacturers that there are any beneficial
effects to consuming mineral waters instead of tap water.
Comparing on price, bottled water can cost up 1500 times
more than tap water.

According to the World Health Organisation, some
substances may prove more difficult to manage in bottled
water than tap water. This is generally because bottled
water is stored for longer periods and at higher
temperatures which can cause micro-organisms to grow to
higher levels. When tested in the UK and America, the
majority of bottled waters were deemed unsuitable for human
consumption due to the amount of toxins in the water, which
were created through man-made contamination. The last point
is that 1.5 million tons of plastic are used to bottle
water. Toxic chemicals can be released into the environment
during the manufacture and disposal of the bottles - also
think of the pollution which is created whilst shipping the

10. Why purified water from reverse osmosis machines
can be bad for you?
Water from reverse osmosis machines is an active
absorber, which means that when the water is in contact with
air, it absorbs carbon dioxide, making it acidic. The
filtering process in reverse osmosis machines filters out
all metals and minerals, making the water more or less pure
H2O. The problem with this process is that our bodies need
more than just H2O from water according to some experts.
When the acidic water which reverse osmosis machines produce
is consumed, studies have shown that higher levels of
calcium, magnesium and other trace minerals were found in
the urine. This means that individuals who consume reverse
osmosis water are under increased risk of degenerative
conditions such as osteoporosis, coronary artery disease and
high blood pressure.

11. Why is there not so much information about water
ionization and testing in the UK?
Water ionization is only just being realised in the USA
and taken seriously by the medical industry and in the UK we
are even further behind. In Japan water ionization is big
and the technology has been used in all types of medical
establishments since 1966. Japanese technology is the most
advanced and The Water Ionizer is the benchmark for all

We are working constantly to spread the word of water
ionization but it took many years before the UK government
realised that smoking is bad for your health and are only

12. How do I use the antioxidant water?
You drink the antioxidant water. The best way is to fill
a two litre jug so you can monitor how much you drink. The
jug can be made from any material but the best type of
material to store the water in is a UV proof dark-coloured
glass container with a lid. Please go to the benefits page

requirements.

13. What level do I start drinking the antioxidant water
on?
The Water Ionizer uses the Automatic Analysis Levelling
System (AALS) to detect your water source to produce the
ideal level for drinking, which is around pH 9. Please go to
the other ionizers page for more information on AALS. So you
do not have to adjust The Water Ionizer, as you would with
the all the other ionizers on the market – you never really
know what pH and antioxidant level you are at with the other
ionizers. If you do feel that you are detoxing too fast,
drop a level so your body can get use to the water. The
detoxification process can be strong and unmistakable.

14. What effects will the water have on me?
But if you mean what
adverse effects the water can have then we have no
information, as we have no negative reports in the UK, USA
or Japan.
Some people can get a very strong detox reaction from
drinking the antioxidant water but it will pass quickly. The
symptoms can be avoided by switching the machine down a
level from its auto setting. The symptoms can be diarrhoea,
headaches, skin rashes and insanity (joke) – this is all
normal to a detox process and after a short while, it will
go away.

15. Do you have any proof that this water will really do
what you say?

16. How long does the water keep?

Both the antioxidant and cleansing water’s special
properties last for around half a day if left in an open
container. The properties of the waters will be extended to
around a day if they are kept in a closed container, but the
properties can be extended to around one month if they are
kept in a UV-proof dark glass container with a sealed lid.
17. What if I can’t drink the water due to the taste?
Taste is perceptive. We know that the water tastes
different because its properties have been altered. But the
vast majority of people comment on how good the antioxidant
water does taste. The most common remarks are that it tastes
smoother, sweeter and lighter than tap water. Try drinking a
glass of tap water in one go and try drinking a glass of
antioxidant water - you will feel the difference. But a very
small percentage of people don’t like the taste of water in
general, which proves you cannot always please everybody.
But please remember it isn’t about the taste, it’s about
what the water has become – the lovely taste is just a
bonus!
